Cost to remove wisdom teeth?
=======Cost to remove wisdom teeth?
>>>>>>> .r7754Tomorrow I will be dumber. Im getting my “wisdom” teeth out. Im kinda nervous because it’s a pretty gross thing to have four teeth yanked out. Not to mention I dont like the dentist. Im lucky that Liza Zuzek will be taking care of me afterwards and driving me to her place. I’ll have to stop to get ice cream on the way home. If I have general anesthetic, I will be pretty out of it until Sunday probably. Uh oh!
And, out of curiosity, my co-pay on my wisdom teeth is around $1100. How much did other people have to pay?

My total procedure to remove all 4 of them was $1300. I paid $150 out-of-pocket. It depends on whether they have to cut into your jawbone. For mine, fortunately they did not have to.

Hey…it IS pricey to have oral surgery in the US but anyone who wants a trip to the exotic island of the Dominican Republic (technically Island of Hispanola) can have their four empacted wisdom teeth out for $90 each or $360. Now, I must mention that while the dentists are technically quite adept, they DO remove them WHILE you are awake (I had the same thing done in the US 25 years ago and insisted on being awake–STUPID). My 16 year old braved not just one, not two but three trips to the dentist to have his removed (it was supposed to be 2 trips but the first tooth and an extra root and took 2 hours.) They do use prophylactic antibiotics and NSAIDs but no narcotics. However, if you need to have them done and it’s blizzarding outside, the difference in price would easily cover your r/t ticket, hotel, food and sunscreen. Just my 2 cents.

I don’t know if traveling to the Dominican Republic would be a good idea to get your wisdom teeth out. U.S. wisdom teeth removal is pricey. I think it cost me a little over 2,000 bucks.
